Course description
Law Enforcement K9 training is rapidly evolving to meet the requirements to safely resolve deployments in today’s world. In order to do this, you must have a K9 that is trained to be obedient in stressful situations and in unknown areas. Through this course you will learn the introductory training methods to train your K9 to be tactically obedient during patrol deployments as well as during live gunfire. This course is a 2-day course that incorporates a combination of classroom and hands on training with you and your K9 partner.
Instructed by
Shay Maimoni, Founder and Lead Instructor at Israeli Special Tactics K9. Shay has over 20 years of K9 training experience, former IDF (Israel Defense Forces) FDLE certified K9 instructor, who trained police and military canine units around the world.
Gary A. Herrero, Special Operations Coordinator and Assistant Instructor. Gary is the Lead Trainer for the Leesburg Police Department K9 Unit. He is an FDLE certified K9 and Firearms Instructor. Gary has over 21 years of animal training and understanding animal psychology. He currently handles a full-service patrol K9.
