The world of Law Enforcement K9 and K9 Training is constantly evolving and agencies must constantly evolve along with it in order to have a successful K9 Unit. This one day (8 Hour) course was designed to educate department administrators, unit supervisors, K9 trainers, and K9 handlers in the most current issues and concerns surrounding the world of K9. It will provide the knowledge required to properly manage you K9 Unit.
Robert Ivey is a Trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol. He has held the position of K9 Handler since 2009 and is currently handling his second dual purpose Police Service Canine. In 2013 he was appointed the Southeast Region K9 Instructor for the Florida Highway Patrol. He is a State of Florida CJSTC certified K9, Firearms, Defensive Tactics, and First Aid/CPR Instructor, as well as a Simunitions and Taser Instructor. He believes in forward thinking training and that K9 training is not just about training the dog but training the K9 team as a whole.
Who Should Attend:
Agency Administrators, K9 Unit Supervisors, K9 Trainers or Handlers or any other Officers wishing to further their career in K9.
Appropriate business attire. Shorts, Tank Tops, and Sandals are not acceptable. Law Enforcement personnel not in uniform that are carrying exposed firearms must have displayed an agency ID or badge at all times.
